Capitol Hill Day 2024

Jennifer Simpson, Vermont’s Federal Affairs liaison, and Amy Sheridan, Vermont’s Chief Delegate, attended Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C. Here they met with staff members from Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Peter Welch and Representative Becca Balint’s offices to discuss current legislation that affects our profession and in particular, how it affects patient access and provider experiences here in Vermont.

In addition, they presented the offices with the Economic Value of PT Report, a landmark paper demonstrating the cost savings of utilizing PT first in certain conditions. The day was overwhelmingly successful and to top it off, Representative Balint’s office provided Jennifer and Amy passes to the viewing gallery at the House, where they were able to watch House proceedings. Jennifer and Amy look forward to following up with the legislative offices in the coming months.
