Access PT Vermont
We are excited to launch a multi-tiered campaign to protect and expand patient access to physical therapy here in Vermont
Our campaign priorities:
- Secure fair, sustainable payment
- Cut administrative burden so PTs can spend more time with patients
- Empower PTs to practice at the top of their education
- Ensure practices stay open so people have access and choices right here in VT
The success of this effort depends on the active engagement of PTs and PTAs across Vermont to ensure decision-makers in both the public and private sectors hear our voices.
Vermont residents deserve timely, high-quality physical therapy. However, decisions by third-party payers and concerns about practice improvements can create barriers to access and may negatively affect patient care. These challenges can also place added pressure on physical therapy practices, potentially contributing to longer wait times, increased costs, and fewer options for patients seeking care.
We urge Vermont officials to put residents first by advancing the following:
- Elimination of ghost networks
- Codify new VT Medicaid policies on PT/OT/Speech
- Increase PTA visits under general supervision
- Reduce PT copays to primary care levels
- Improve VT Medicaid Payments
